Also known as balayage, meaning to sweep, lightener is painted directly onto hair, creating a natural gradient from the root. This sun kissed look can be applied in many customizable patters, creating the ultimate low maintenance color.

Because hair painting is most often applied using bleach, overall lightness and tone must be layered with multiple sessions, to achieve some desired looks.

It can be applied classically from the root, or focus on the ends for a sun kissed ombre. Working with the existing base color to create a variety of dimension options.

Keep in mind that hair painting is always going to lift warmer. If a cooler tone is desired, it may mean foils must be used in combination with hair painting.
