A single process or solid color, is when you are using color to change the global tone or color of all over base.

This can be done with permanent color, when you want to go to a shade much different than your natural, or cover stubborn grey hair.

Demi-permanent color can be used to blend away sparse grey hair, or deepen the existing level of your current hair, but cannot lighten or brighten your hair in any way.

If you are starting from virgin hair, meaning no color history at all, or your roots longer than 1 inch, a root & end application may be required.
